Wearing high heels without any pain

There is almost no women who can resist the look of a pair sky scraping heels, but in between also lies every woman’s constant plea: that she may wear a pair of high heels that won’t instantly kill her party mood and leave her feet in miserable pain.

Every fashionista can probably relate to that love-hate relationship with high heels. Heels add height, make your legs look longer and most of all, they are gorgeous to look at! Still, no matter how beautiful high heels are, there always comes a point where your feet just can’t handle it anymore. But is pain always the ultimate price we pay to look our best?

…Not as long as Steve Madden is around! We’ve gathered the best tips and tricks that will keep you on your feet all night, dancing it away.

1. Break those puppies in!

This is a no-brainer, or isn’t it? Never wait to break in your brand new heels on the actual day of that special event. Try to develop a relationship with your new loves at least one week in advance, so you can get a feel for how they wear. This also allows you some time to figure out how to prep them properly, if needed. 

2. Get greasy!

Run your feet under cool water and gently pad dry, leaving them a bit damp. Then, lightly rub some hand lotion on them. The combination of water and lotion will lubricate your feet just enough to prevent any painful blisters from popping up!

3. Tape this!

Tape your third and fourth toe together (counting from the big toe) with a nude medical tape to prevent pain in the ball of your foot. Here’s the reasoning: there’s a nerve that splits between those two toes, which causes pain when pressure is applied (a.k.a. when you wear heels). The tape will instantly remove any strain on the nerve!
